Report of Pledge Taking Ceremony As part of the National Pride celebrations and to commemorate the 150 years of Vande Mataram Phase II, Debates and seminars committee in collaboration with NSS and NCC of GDC Women’s Anantnag organised a Pledge Taking Ceremony on 22/01/2026 in a virtual mode. The event aimed to enhance students’ knowledge about India’s freedom struggle, national symbols, cultural heritage, and the historical significance of Vande Mataram. The event began with a brief introduction by Prof Farooq Ahmad Malik, Convener Debates and Seminar Committee who highlighted the importance of Vande Mataram- the National Song and its significant role in inspiring generations during India’s freedom struggle. The event was conducted in an engaging and lively manner, keeping the audience actively involved. The responsibility to read Pledge was borne by Prof Zahid Ahmad Wani. The event proved to be a meaningful and inspiring event, reinforcing the values of national unity, heritage, and pride among students. The event concluded with formal vote of thanks by Prof Masroofa Qadir. The technical support was provided by Prof Javaid Ahmad Kumar. The event was conducted under the overall supervision of Principal Prof Dr Khalida Hassan.
