Celebration of 79th Independence Day (August 15, 2025) Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag celebrated 79th National Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic favor today on 15th of August, 2025. The event, which was attended by the students, faculty and the staff, was marked by a series of activities that reflected the spirit of freedom and unity. The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the esteemed Principal, Prof (Dr) Masood Ahmad Malik who was the chief guest on the occasion. It was followed by a march past/parade conducted by the NCC cadets. In his address, Prof (Dr) Masood Ahmad Malik, spoke about the significance of Independence Day and the responsibility of the youth in shaping the nation’s future in terms of progress and development. It is a remarkable day on which we honor and pay tribute to our freedom fighters who fought for India’s independence, he said. Among the celebrations was an impressive Lecture by the Principal of college Prof (Dr) Masood Ahmad Malik which was held in the auditorium amid a huge gathering. Prof (Dr) Masood Ahmad Malik who expressed gratitude to all the participants and attendees for making the event a success. The proceedings were conducted by Tuba Athar and Masrat Jan, all the participants were served with light refreshment.
