Department of Arabic

Arabic is one of the oldest living languages in the world. It has a rich literary heritage spread over fifteen centuries. It is mother tongue of more than 400 million people in parts of Asia and Africa. It is also official language of over twenty countries in these two continents. It is one of the six major languages of the world adopted by the U.N.O as official ones. The Department of Arabic was established in this college in the same year in which the college was established I,e 1979. Since its inception the department has nurtured a considerable number of students every year. Many students opt for Arabic as subject at UG level to gain basic competency in this language besides acquiring eligibility for higher studies. The courses taught across the semesters are designed in a scientific manner, following the principles and maxims of Teaching-Learning process. The courses offered focus on the development of students in such a manner that their job efficiency is improved besides other aspects of human development. The department envisions providing attractive learning environment to the learners through high quality educational programmes. The department takes active part in co-curricular and extra- curricular activities organized in the college. The official publication of the college ‘Heemal’ has an Arabic Section, in which the students besides teachers bring out their creative write ups.
