Department of English

Established in 1978, the Department of English happens to be one of the first teaching departments at Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag. It has been a cornerstone of academic excellence since the college's inception. Committed to empowering women through language, literature, and critical thought, the department fosters analytical thinking, creativity, and a deep appreciation for diverse literary traditions. Moreover, the department has an established language laboratory to enhance the communication and language skills of the students.
