The Department of Physical Education organised a “Run for Vande Mataram” event in the on 13th November 2025 to promote the spirit of patriotism, unity, and fitness among students. The event began with an inaugural address by Mr. Umar Bashir, Head of the Department of Physical Education, who spoke about the meaning and importance of Vande Mataram and highlighted the role of sports in developing physical and moral strength among youth. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Masood Ahmad Malik, Principal of the College, accompanied by senior professors and members of the Sports Committee. Dr. Malik appreciated the efforts of the department and encouraged students to actively participate in such fitness and patriotic initiatives. A total of 54 students participated in the event, representing sports backgrounds, NCC, and NSS units. Prizes were awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position holders, while nine consolation prizes were also distributed. All winners received trophies and medals. The event concluded with remarks by Prof. Masroofa Qadir, NSS Programme Officer, who spoke about the growing acceptance of sports among women and appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the participants. The programme successfully combined the themes of nationalism and physical well-being, reflecting the college’s commitment to holistic student development.
