Under the guidance of the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Masood Ahmad Malik, the Departments of Environmental Science and Geography are observing World Environmental Week w.e.f 5th June 2025 in collaboration with Debates and Seminars Committee, Eco Club, NSS and District Talent Search Committee with a series of impactful, awareness activities. This year’s theme, “Ending Plastic Pollution”, serves as the guiding principle for all the events to engage students and staff in sustainable and eco-conscious practices. Activities Conducted on Day 1 (05-6-2025): 1. Eco-Pledge Ceremony Time & Venue: 11:00 AM, Seminar Hall The celebrations began with a mass eco-pledge, where students and faculty members collectively committed themselves to adopt sustainable living practices and actively work towards protecting nature. The pledge emphasized reducing plastic usage, conserving resources, and promoting environmental harmony. 2. Eco-friendly Giveaways Time & Venue: 11:10 AM, Seminar Hall As a token of commitment towards sustainability, biodegradable bags were distributed among participants. These giveaways symbolized a step toward replacing single-use plastic and promoting ecoconscious daily habits. 3. Screening of Awareness Film/Documentary Time & Venue: 11:30 AM, Seminar Hall An informative short film/documentary on plastic pollution was screened for the audience. It highlighted the grave consequences of plastic waste on ecosystems and human health, along with sustainable solutions and innovations for reducing plastic dependency. 4. Campus Cleanliness Drive Time & Venue: 02:00 PM, College Campus A comprehensive cleanliness drive was conducted across the college campus. Students, staff, and volunteers actively participated in removing litter, particularly plastic waste, thereby reinforcing the day's theme through action. The initiative promoted a cleaner, greener, and healthier campus environment.
