One Day Picnic to Pahalgam Date: 22 September 2026 Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag organised a one-day picnic to Pahalgam on 22 September 2026 for the students of the 5th Semester. The programme provided students with an opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Pahalgam while spending meaningful time with their teachers and peers outside the formal classroom environment. The Principal of the College, Prof. Dr. Khalida Hassan, accompanied the students along with members of the teaching and non-teaching staff. Her presence throughout the programme added a sense of encouragement, discipline and institutional support to the outing. The picnic was organised under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Iqbal Qadri, Convenor, Picnic Committee. The committee made necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the programme. Prof. Muneeb Iqbal, Convenor, Transport Committee, made arrangements for the buses and transportation facilities. Prof. Syed Bilal Ahmad Shah coordinated the protocol arrangements and facilitated the smooth movement and coordination of the group during the visit. The students visited Pahalgam and enjoyed its scenic surroundings and pleasant atmosphere. The outing provided them with an opportunity to interact informally with faculty members, strengthen peer relationships and refresh themselves from their regular academic routine. The picnic also reflected the college's commitment to holistic student development, where learning extends beyond the classroom and includes social interaction, cooperation, discipline, responsibility and appreciation of nature. The programme concluded successfully with the students and staff returning safely. The college administration appreciated the efforts of the Picnic Committee, Transport Committee and all staff members who contributed to the successful conduct of the one-day outing.
