Report Painting Competition GDCW Anantnag Organized Painting Competition on the Occasion of the 80th Independence Day Celebrations As part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, the NSS Wing and NCC Unit of Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag organized a Painting Competition on 5th August 2026. The competition was based on the theme, "Important Events in the Lives of India's Freedom Fighters", with the objective of promoting patriotism, creativity, and awareness of the nation's rich freedom struggle among students. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets and NSS volunteers, who expressed their ideas through vibrant and thought provoking paintings. The artworks beautifully portrayed the ideals of patriotism, national unity, the sacrifices of freedom fighters, and the collective vision of a strong and developed India. The programme was held under the patronage of the worthy Principal, Dr. Khalida Hassan, who interacted with the participants and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the NSS Wing and NCC Unit in organizing the event. In her address, she emphasized that Independence Day serves as a solemn reminder of the immense sacrifices made by the nation's freedom fighters in securing the country's independence. She encouraged students to uphold the values of unity, discipline, responsibility, and selfless service to the nation, and to contribute meaningfully towards the progress of society.
