The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and non teaching staff, reflecting the collective resolve of the college community to foster a healthy and addiction free society. The Yoga Session was conducted by Mr. Umar Bashir, Head, Department of Physical Education, who served as the Master Trainer for the programme. During the session, he introduced participants to the significance of yoga as a holistic practice that promotes physical health, mental balance, emotional stability, and self discipline. He emphasized that regular practice of yoga strengthens willpower, reduces stress and anxiety, enhances concentration, and helps young people resist negative influences, including substance abuse. The practical session included a series of warming up exercises, stretching techniques, breathing exercises (Pranayama), meditation, and various yoga postures (Asanas) designed to improve flexibility, endurance, posture, and overall physical fitness. She urged students to embrace yoga as a lifelong practice and become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan within their families and communities. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Umar Bashir emphasized that the philosophy of yoga extends beyond physical fitness and promotes harmony between the body, mind, and spirit. He explained that developing healthy habits and positive coping mechanisms is one of the most effective ways to protect young people from substance abuse and other harmful behaviours.
